When you are strange

Ho trentacinque anni e la mia esperienza dei Doors è uguale a quella di molti giovani della mia generazione, grande infatuazione tra i quindici e i diciotto anni e poi mai più ascoltati. In tempi, diversi era l'amico secchione che leggeva molti libri sulla storia delle band, piuttosto che lo smanettone di oggi, a raccontarti i gossip musicali. Ma ricordo che perlopiù si parlava degli eccessi di Morrison, si suonava e si beveva.
Essere giovani significa vomitare, nasceva anche in Italia il mito degli eroi morti nel vomito, ventisette il numero magico, pare che la vita dopo i ventisette avesse ben poco senso, malinconica felicità e tristezza assieme, sentimenti senza nome dentro poesie meravigliose. Jim Morrison che avevo smesso di ascoltare quando si era messo a parlare e basta, proprio allora aveva rischiato di esser davvero capito. Il difetto dei teenagers della mia generazione era che vivevano di soli eroi, il difetto di quegli eroi era che erano quasi tutti morti.
Innanzitutto guardando questo documentario si scopre che i Doors erano una band, certo, con il cantante più carismatico della storia della musica, ma un gruppo di musicisti prima di tutto, e anche bravi.
Ben fatto questo When you are strange, si guarda senza noia, è molto attinente ai fatti ed è ben contestualizzato nel periodo storico. Buona musica, che lascia ben poche porte chiuse, ed è riuscita a farmi rispolverare un periodo felice della mia vita...senza troppa malinconia.

Well done this "When You Are Strange", looks untroubled, is very relevant to the facts and is well contextualized within the historical period. Good music, which leaves no doors closed, and capable to revive me a happy period of my life without too much sadness.
